seattle trip, day #3

Wednesday, Apr. 07, 2010 | 10:54 PM

on saturday morning, we woke up just in time to get out of the motel by 11. we started our day with breakfast at the portage bay cafe. we shared an order of french toast with caramel sauce and bananas. i added some strawberries and lots of whipped cream to my plate.

we then headed to a museum, the name of which i'm not going to write here. i took pictures in there and will probably post some of them, but if i never write the name of the museum, then it would be very hard for anyone to find out that i took pictures there and posted them. or something. i don't know. it makes sense in my head.

anyway... we only had two and a half hours there until it closed, so we ended up rushing through some of it. i wasn't really fond of the idea of standing longer anyway, my feet and legs were hurting extremely bad.

we left the museum at 4, and at this point didn't have a lot of time before david wanted to leave seattle. we stopped at veraci's pizza for some slices, and then went to discovery park for what we thought might be a quick visit. when we got there, however, we realised that it would have been a very long walk from the parking lot to the beach, and decided to skip it entirely. david wanted to make it to a hawaiian restaurant near tacoma before it closed.

and so our visit in seattle was over.

at the hawaiian place, we shared a large plate of meat and rice. they had some gift shop items for sale, but when picking up something i was interested in buying, i found "made in china" printed on the back of it.

after some more driving, we made it to spiffy's restaurant in chehalis. i couldn't pass up this opportunity to stop there, even though i'd already eaten. we went in and shared a desert with mint ice cream, oreo cookie crumb pie crust stuff, chocolate sauce, hot fudge sauce, frozen whipped cream, unfrozen whipped cream and a cherry. again i was disappointed with the gift shop. they were not selling items with the word "spiffy" on it. they only had little pads of paper with their logo.

so that was our trip to seattle. i think i liked seattle, though i guess it's pretty similar to portland. it would be nice to go back again someday and see some of the things that we didn't have time to see. i suppose if david ends up going to the university of washington, i probably will.
