fake success

oh God, when will my world explode? i'm sitting in front of a computer, in a classroom, at a deceptively large looking school, in an obliviously broken city, in a block of land marked off as a "state," in a bordered off country, on a big giant ball of dirt-covered lava. i'm racing through life in an attempt to catch up with it. i'm racing toward an impossible goal. i'm an ant circling the surface of a crusty, moldy donut, trying to reach an end that doesn't exist.

society tells me that i need to keep running. society tells me that i need to get a good education, so i can get a good job, make good money, and be happy. i'll work today and be happy tomorrow, society says, but tomorrow never comes and the future is never now. the lies of society paint a picture of smog across our sky every evening when the sun sets. it sinks with a sigh over a dazed and confused planet that has lost all sense of why it spins in orbit.

we sit like dogs begging at the feet of the idols we've created for ourselves, waiting to be tossed our scraps of false satisfaction to feed our selfish nature. all of the lost souls wander about, searching where there is nothing, hoping in that which is hopeless, and completely missing the mark of what their creator created them to be. and here i am, sitting at a computer, in a classroom, learning how to climb the ladder of fake success at their expense.

i don't know why i got off into that. i actually lost whatever it was that i was actually going to write about. i don't know. i'm tired.
