baby bunny update #2... and school and stuff

Friday, May. 11, 2007 | 4:20 PM

school sucked yesterday. he kept us the whole entire time, and all we did was css. i already know css. i didn't learn a thing, and it was really boring. the teacher is also sorta creepy...

last week, he asked me a ton of questions. he normally asks students questions, but last week it was pretty much all me, and just a few others. it was really annoying. i hate answering questions. i can do it sometimes. i'm really glad that i can actually answer, because in high school and stuff, i couldn't. but i still don't like doing it. i especially didn't like how i didn't know the answer to all of them. i'm used to people thinking i'm all smart.

and he's winked at me twice. he did it while telling jokes, as he often does, though only like 10% of them are actually funny.

he sometimes tells us of news pertaining to the world of computer information systems. he was telling us of how a small percentage of the people enrolled in cis programs are female, and that they're trying to make it more interesting to females somehow. he said something along the lines of, "if all the instructors looked like me..." and then he winked at me. i know it was me. it was my direction, and i was the only one in my direction... sitting off in the corner as usual. i don't know. isn't that just a bit creepy or something?

and after class last week, as i left, he said, "thank you sarah." thank you for what? answering your annoying questions? why not thank the others too? why in the world would you thank me?

then yesterday, i sat in a different spot than usual, because my spot was taken. as he began class, he said, "hi yall." then he waved at me, and said, "way in the back this time."

i don't know. i'm overreacting i'm sure...

anyway. there's still four baby bunnies. when i opened the cage today, pixel freaked out a bit, so i sorta grabbed her before she trampled the nest. i figured since i already had her, i'd go ahead and stick her in a small cage so i could look at the babies without her in the way. i put her in a small carrying cage that was sitting with grass growing through it. she started munching away at the grass.

they're all still fat, and they're already growing fur. things are looking really hopeful, and i'm excited.

i really think the downfall last time was the lack of hay in her cage to make a good nest. two died because of this, leaving only one. rabbits typically don't lay with their babies, and the one wasn't able to keep itself warm. before then, something just went wrong, as they were both dead and sorta deformed looking.

this is a healthier sized litter, and she appears to be taking care of them. so maybe she'll turn out to be a good mother after all. she's just very grouchy and skittish, as unspayed does sometimes tend to be. i also don't think she was handled much when she was young. my bunnies that i raised from birth before, they were very calm and sweet, because i actually handled them every day.

since pixel wasn't in my way, i got some better pictures of them in the nest...

also here's a short video.
