four babies! four live baby bunnies!

oh, God, please let these babies live. please, please, pleeeeeeeeease. i really want these babies to live.

i was surpised to see them today, though she was due today or tomorrow. she hadn't made a nest yet, and i figured she'd do that the day before or so. but i go out there today, and look! there's babies! i picked them all up to see how many there were. there were four live, one dead. that's pretty good. they're huge as usual. this doe is really weird. she keeps popping out huge babies. but at least they're alive! it's a lot warmer now than it was for her last litter, and there's four of them to cuddle with each other... so i'm really really hoping that this time it'll go well.

i wanted to take the babies and take pictures of them and stuff, but i knew the best thing for me to do would be to just leave. she doesn't like me very much, and gets stressed when i open her cage. my initial instinct is to go out there all the time and check on them, but i know it would really be best to just go out there when i have to, until they're past this fragil stage. i don't have to worry about them getting cold, and they have tons of hay so they won't be on their wire. their greatest danger is their mother trampling on them if she freaks out, or neglecting or eating them if she gets too stressed.

oh gosh, i really want these babies to live. please God, let them live!!
