when i look at the stars...

Saturday, Aug. 01, 2009 | 9:06 PM

so i went to a switchfoot concert yesterday with david. they came here to portland and played at the crystal ballroom for 45 minutes before some band called blue october (which we didn't stay for.) it was supposed to be around 92 outside, but it must have been 20 degrees hotter where we stood inside the venue. my clothes were soaked and sweat ran down my skin. no part of me was dry. i'd never been hotter or sweatier in my entire life. i usually try to keep myself from getting very sweaty, because i hate the way it feels. this time, however, there was nothing i could do. i had to embrace the sweat.

when switchfoot played i pretty much forgot how hot i was feeling. in fact, being soaked in salty perspiration and the lack of inhibition i would usually feel when covered in my own body fliuds might have actually added to the experience. throwing off one's inhibitions is pretty much one of the greatest feelings in the world.

and it's one of the greatest feelings to sing at the top of my lungs and not care about anybody else.

it definitely felt short but it was really fun and i'm glad that david came with me.

jon let a fan up on stage to play "stars" with them
