i have mentioned a guy named david, but i haven't properly introduced him.

it started with me posting on a social anxiety forum for a short while. i was drawn to it partly because of loneliness, and partly because it was amazing to me that there were so many other people with this condition, talking about so many things that i can relate to, that i'd never heard or seen anyone talk about before. i decided to stop lurking and post a bit, though that didn't last for long.

during this time, i randomly got an email from a guy. as i mentioned before, his name was david, 22 years old, from salem. he had seen me on the forum and became interested because my location said portland. apparently he visited my website and my blog, and he listed off some things that we had in common from my "100 facts about me" list. the commonality that stood out the most was that he too had social anxiety.

he stated that it was uncommon and difficult for him to email me like that, so of course i wrote him a friendly reply.

it was in his second email that he brought up becoming friends and meeting sometime. it seemed a little quick to me, but i decided to be open to the possibility. the idea of having a friend who also has social anxiety was very intriguing to me. we began talking on yahoo messenger, and now, just a short month later, we have plans for meeting on friday. i rather like him, and i think we can help each other.

so, that's my introduction of david. i'll write more about our plans of meeting later, i want to go to bed earlier tonight.
