the trip to the stormy beach

Wednesday, Mar. 26, 2008 | 9:47 PM

i'm so tired. i'm always tired. it sucks.

anyway, here's my entry about the beach...

we left much later on saturday than we were planning, so i didn't get to see the sunset over the ocean, which is just about my most favorite thing to watch. that was a little disappointing. we got to seaside around 9:30 pm, and checked into the motel. this is what the room was like...

my parents watched some old movie on tv, while i sat looking at a magazine about the oregon coast. on the first page about the north coast, i saw a thing about the astoria column. i remembered melissa telling me about this thing after her and joel saw it. so i was like, "hey let's go to the astoria column tomorrow."

i actually went to sleep around 2 that night, because i was exhausted from only getting a couple of hours of sleep the night before.

my parents woke me up around 11 am, and we went out around 12. the first thing we did was go to the beach. we drove onto the driveable beach in gearhart. unfortunaly, it was a very stormy, windy and rainy. when i tried to walk away from the van, where it wasn't blocking me from the wind, that wind almost blew me over. it was so windy that i could hardly open my eyes without getting sand in them, and so rainy and foggy that i could hardly see anyway. so after about one minute, i got back into the van.

it was disappointing, because i was really looking forward to playing on the beach all day.

so then we headed to astoria. of course it was very windy and rainy and foggy there as well. when we reached the column thing, i waited for a break in the pouring rain, then got out of the van and ran around the thing a couple times.

after that, we went back to seaside and looked around in some little shops, and then we went home.

so, yeah... that's very undetalied, but there just aren't many interesting details to share.
