she's home... i'm awake.

Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007 | 12:50 AM

well, i'm still awake.

we went to see bubble at 8 am, but they didn't want us to take her home yet. i was kinda disappointed... but i wanted what was best for her. i honestly don't remember what they actually said to us at that point, probably because i was and am so tired, but there was no bad news.

we went home, and my parents went to work. i actually had the whole day ahead of me (and i saw sunlight!), and i was probably running on adrenaline at that point, so i decided to see how far it would take me, and get a bunch of stuff done instead of going to sleep. i cleaned the litterbox, cleaned the ferret cage, swept the floor... and took a shower of course. i felt a lot better after that shower.

i stayed up until my dad got home from work. i anxiously awaited his arrival, all ready to go and pick up bubble. well sort of. i kinda almost fell asleep on the couch... but after i woke up, then i anxiously awaited.

when we got there, they gave us some cans of wet food to feed her, in case her mouth is too sore to eat hard kibbles. they also gave us some medication, and showed us how to much to give and stuff. they also gave us this paper:

(cuz, you know, i gotta share important papers...)

it says she might need surgery... if the tissue death is severe, but i don't think it will be. they said that no more tissue had died since last night. so that's happy news.

some more happy news is that they somehow cut the cost A LOT. they qualified my mom for some sort of credit thing, so that covered it, and we can just pay it off. that's good news for the switchfoot trip.

after making an appointment for friday, we went back and talked to the doctor. she basically just explained more stuff to us and stuff, and then i was happily reunited with my little girl and we took her home.

when we first got home, i just sat and held her for while. her face is still very swollen, she has a patch with pain medicine stuck to her hind leg, and her front legs are shaved for some reason. she also just looks overall... scraggly. it makes me feel bad for her and just wanna hold her and cuddle her.

after i was satisfied, i took her into my room and set her down on the floor. she's kinda herself, but not completely. she ran after lolly and started chewing on her ears like usual. she drank water, inhailed a can of food, and chewed up a paper plate. after that, though, she curled up on a towel and fell asleep.

after waking up from her nap, i noticed that she was trying to chew the patch thing off of her foot, so my dad had to go get a cone to stick on her head. so now she's a pathetic looking little lampshade.

so all in all... it sucks that this happened, but i think it actually turned out just about the best that it could. so yay. praise God. and stuff. well, not stuff. don't praise stuff. just God.

now, if i counted correctly, i'm going on 34 hours of no sleep. i really do posses an amazing ability to stay awake.

i took some pictures of bubble when she got home... for, you know, documentation. i also kinda realized, when i was worried about her face looking different, that i haven't really been taking pictures of her recently. or really... pictures of anything. there just isn't time. but that's gonna change now. there's gonna be lots of bubble pictures... and lolly and ferret pictures, which i have also been lacking.

anyway, here's a few...

in case you don't know... she really is a lot cuter.

this one shows the swelling pretty good. but please also notice... the closest of feet tuckage going on there.

poor little girl.
