i don't understand

i don't understand what just happened. i asked my dad to cut my bangs. he always does it. my mom claims she can't, and i can't either. i am not coordinated with scissors in a mirror.

so i went and stood in front of the mirror in the living room. he stood about a foot away, not in front of the mirror. he refused to move. he wanted me to move to him. i told him that i wanted to be able to see, that it's my hair and i have every right to see. there was nothing at all wrong or not sensible about my request. he still refused to move, and finally i walked away. i really wanted it done, though, so i went back. i was frustrated and tried to move the huge heavy mirror. he started yelling at me, and my mom started yelling at him.

he finally came over and did it, but he was so mad that he didn't even try to make it straight, or to keep from jabbing the scissors into my skin. it hurt, so i kept moving my head. that only made him more mad. he was so angry for no reason, and he eventually walked away without even finishing. he says he'll never do it again.

i sat down and cried. what just happened? why was he like that? i often feel like he doesn't love me... because of things like this, and things he says. am i that bad? i just don't understand.
