melissa's birthday party

so i guess i should write about going to melissa's birthday party on friday, though there isn't a lot to write. i got there at 6:30, the third one to arrive. melissa introduced me to her friend and her brother, and i sat next to her on the couch.

i pretty much just sat there, as many people arrived. there ended up being about 20 or so. melissa moved off the couch, and two other people took her spot. so i was quished on a couch with three other people that i didn't know. at least i was in the corner, though. i do so like corners.

jordan and his wife rachel showed up with their little baby. i was kinda relieved to have some people there that i knew. of course there was melissa and joel, but jordan and rachel helped. tim also showed up.

melissa opened presents, they ate cake, and they spent much time just talking. the only one not included in conversations, i just sat there, looking around, watching and listening. at around 8, i began getting bored.

finally i called my dad a little after 9. he called me when he got there, and i began walking to the door. "are you leaving, sarah?" melissa asked.

i nodded.

i actually successfully got through the whole night without saying a word, except when on the phone with my dad.

so yeah. that's pretty much all there is to say. there are some details i could add... but i'm lazy, and don't really feel like writing.
