youth group and paris

Tuesday, May. 29, 2007 | 9:03 PM

i took a baby bunny to youth group on sunday, to share the cuteness, because cuteness should definitely be shared. but sadly, no one showed up. tim and jordan and i were the only ones.

tim was enthralled by the cuteness for the first few minutes. first he asked, "can i pet it?"

"yeah."

then he asked, "can i hold it?"

"yeah."

then he asked, "if i put it on the ground, will it run away?"

"no."

so he put him on the ground and petted him and stuff as he hopped around all cute like. he asked if he had a name, and i said he didn't. first he named him fluffy, telling me about his girlfriend's bunny named fluffy. but then he decided that chubby was a better name.

jordan came in, and they both talked about the bunny for a while. then they messed around with an overhead projector screen thing, and then just sat around talking and playing tim's guitar and the piano. stuff like this went on, until at 7:30 they decided that no one was going to show up, and that we should leave. so i called my dad.

...

yesterday was an interesting day and worth writing about. i'd just gotten up, and was about to get ready to go to the barn, when my dad got a call from bobby for whatever reason. he asked if we could take paris with us. yay! so he went and picked her up while i got ready.

i took her outside with me to take care of the animals, and showed her the bunnies. i've been thinking of keeping bunny number one, and decided to let her name it. "do you want to name her?" i asked.

"yes, i want to name her a really good name, because she's really cute. like... sally."

she also had fun chasing the birds around when i took care of them. here's a picture of her petting a chicken...

she entertained us on the drive to the barn. my dad didn't want me to drive with paris in the car, so i sat in the back with her. my favorite part was when she observed, "if we didn't have bones, we'd all be little piles of skin."

paris really wanted to ride paloma, but when we brought her in from the pasture, we found that her leg had gotten hurt near the hoof. it was bleeding. my dad called carolyn (tara's mom) to let her know. it turned out that she needed stitches and antibiotics and stuff.

next we went to a thrift store for some reason. while my parents looked around at stuff, i took paris to the toy section. we had fun looking at playing with the toys, though most of them were really lame. she was mostly fascinated by a stuffed purple ant, like from one of those disney (or whatever) ant or bug movies they made. she also enjoyed looking around for "clues" with a big plastic magnifying glass. so we bought these things for her.

she kept looking at price stickers, asking how much things were, so i started teaching her to read the numbers. when my parents were done looking at whatever they were looking at, we left and went home.

paris and i played in my room while my dad made dinner. she likes to climb up into my bed, so we hung out there for a while. she said that she liked having pillow fights. there were two llama stuffed animals, so i said, "how about a llama fight." so we spent some time beating on each other with llamas. then i just laid there and watched her play with stuffed animals. i was sorta tired, because i'd lost a chunk of sleep because of the whole stomach thing. she was pretty entertaining. she even had conversations with her ant.

she decided after a while that she wanted out of the bed, so i tried to think of something she could do. i asked her, "do you like draw?"

"yeah, i wanna draw a llama."

so i got out some paper and crayons and markers and stuff, and she drew until it was time to eat. she gave the picture to my dad. isn't the sweet? i hung it on the fridge, and he later dated it.

we happened to be having the same thing that we'd had when she last came over. turkey and mashed potatoes. last time, she refused to eat the potatoes, claiming she didn't like them. this time, she ate them and talked of how good they were. strange little person.

after we ate, we took her home. i got to drive back to our house from theirs. that was fun. it was a fun day, except for the morning.
